Be Equitable

Be Equitable (BE) is a diversity, equity and inclusion consultancy known for their industry-leading unconscious bias training. But in the midst of the BLM movement, BE was driven to do more. Guided by a new Afro-Latina CEO/owner, Be Equitable knew that centuries of injustice would take more than a session to undo. They were ready to evolve from a company known for Unconscious Bias Training, to one that helped create systemic, organisational change through long-term, strategic partnerships. With a new name, new leader, and a new mission – Be Equitable needed a new way of representing themselves.

BE’s new identity is challenging, yet uplifting. It delves into difficult conversations, balancing an outspoken voice with visuals that celebrate difference and defy stereotypes. From a typeface inspired by non-violent protesting, to typeable illustrations that challenge the cliched representations of diversity, the system integrates IDEA into its design. By collaborating with diverse artists and typographers, the identity also serves as a step towards inclusivity in itself and a platform for those frequently underrepresented in the creative industries. With their new identity, BE is setting a new standard for how to meaningfully engage with IDEA — in the category and beyond.
